Rewards & GHO

Understanding Aave Merit rewards, GHO, and sGHO staking in Kairu.

The Rewards page shows protocol incentives associated with your Aave V3 position, including claimable Merit rewards and your GHO/sGHO balance.

Merit Rewards

Aave's Merit program distributes rewards to active Aave users based on their protocol activity. Kairu reads your pending claimable rewards for each eligible asset.

The rewards panel shows:

ColumnDescription
AssetThe reward token (usually AAVE or other incentive tokens)
ClaimableAmount available to claim right now
USD ValueEstimated USD value at current market price

Rewards are listed sorted by USD value, highest first.

To claim rewards, use the Aave app directly — Kairu is read-only and cannot submit claim transactions.

GHO

GHO is Aave's native decentralized stablecoin. It is minted by borrowing against your Aave V3 collateral on Ethereum mainnet.

Kairu shows your GHO position:

  • GHO balance — how much GHO you currently hold in your wallet
  • GHO borrow — how much GHO debt you have in your Aave position
  • Borrow rate — your current GHO borrow cost (discounted if you hold stkAAVE)

sGHO

sGHO is staked GHO. By staking GHO in the Aave Safety Module, you earn a staking APY while providing protocol backstop capital.

Kairu shows:

  • sGHO balance — your staked GHO amount
  • Staking APY — current annual yield on sGHO
  • Estimated annual earnings — projected earnings at current rate

Asking the AI about rewards

The AI assistant has direct access to your reward and GHO data:

"How much can I claim in rewards?"
"What's my GHO borrow rate?"
"Is it worth staking my GHO at the current sGHO APY?"
Merit rewards and GHO are Aave-specific features. They are only available on networks where Aave V3 is deployed with GHO (currently Ethereum mainnet).
